Does anyone find that a type of shoe helps your foot neuropathy?

Posted by lorirenee1 @lorirenee1, Mar 25, 2019

I am on a constant quest for shoes that don't kill my feet due to the neuropathy. I find that Spencos and Wolky shoes seem the best. Are there any other suggestions? Shoes can be just crippling for me. Horrid.

THE BEST SHOES FOR THAT IS TEVA RE-EMBER SLIP-ON
I HAVE 2 PAIR, ONE IN BROWN AND ONE IN GRAY. I GET MANY COMPLIMENTS ON THE STYLE. THEY ARE NOT INEXPENSIVE, $80.00. MY FEET ,TOES DO NOT HURT WHEN WALKING.
I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Everyone has their own shoe story. The most impotant aspect is being able to try them out and seeing how they feel. The company MUST offer a reasonable 30 or 60 day wear policy, like the Oofos that I purchased. Looked great on the TV ad. On my feet they were terrible. Returned just a couple of days after purchase. Make sure any online shoes have a return policy that allows you to WEAR THEM. Some do not, apparently.

This post will help me when I talk to my podiatrist next week. Naot inserts help me a little, I will try them with the neuropathy shoes. Naot inserts are not cheap, $50 to $90 a pair. My pain relief makes them a good investment for me. They last a couple of years.

Will Medicare pay for neuropathy shoes; my wife is a diabetic and Medicare will pay for one pair of shoes per year.

I try them on, walk in my home if not comfortable send back. Would not want to purchase a shoe that some one else has worn!

FUNNY! Meaning "as long as you don't wear them" which means if you wear them you can't return them.

I've been struggling with finances as well as in a very small town so my access to footwear was pretty much online. I've also been an Adidas snob most of my life lol, but since the Neuropathy hit me even my precious Adidas weren't helping, so I researched (Googled) the crap out of Adidas/Neuropathy and discovered first that they have a line called "Cloudfoam" that some people mentioned, then I discovered that the Adidas Canada site allows you to pay over 6 weeks, so I took a shot, and I'm still in my first pair of Cloudfoams over a year later and the difference when doing something like a big grocery shop is like night and day. I realize that we're all different physically but that, and my Dr Scholl's diabetic socks, were the game changer for me. I hope this can bring some relief to those of you who give it a shot.

I wear Columbia hiking boots. My podiatrist recommended them. I have worn them for years. I used to wear a special type shoe called ZCoil.
They are expensive. I currently have two men’s size unworn pair in different sizes. When I started having balance problems I could not wear them. They are easy on the knees and hips. These were recommended by my orthopedic surgeon.

I find compression socks help along with larger shoes that enable my feet to swell a bit? for me a good arch support is important.

Welcome @joanne64asis, I've recently started wearing Orthofeet shoes (hands free ones). The ones I have aren't specifically for neuropathy but they do have some - https://www.orthofeet.com/collections/neuropathy-shoes.

Have you seen a neurologist for your symptoms?

I have typical neuropathy at first - the numbness and tingles but after about ten to fifteen minutes of standing on my feet this gives way to a sensation of standing on broken china or broken glass. It is extremely painful and doesn't go away unless I elevate my toes and balls of my feet off the floor. I can walk if I walk on my heels, but this isn't terribly easy to do and might look a bit off! Is there a shoe, sock or aid of some sort that might help this? Has anyone had experience with this type of neuropathy?
