Employers view - Does anyone else's employer express this?

I was recently sick and went to clinic that employees can go to. So I went to make a long story short if I would have tested positive for covid or the flu they said I would just need to wear a mask and go back to work that I could not get an excuse note to be out of work at all. I had been wondering why I keep getting sick working at my job and now I see they do not care about the spread of anything and I recently came across a forum with questions this employer of mine says that we need to learn how to coexist with covid (umm what) and my co worker told me covid is not a thing anymore. I honestly dont know what other job to do right now not only b/c of our chronic symptoms but b/c of these sideways comments from people who do not understand anything about what we are all going through. Total ignorance, I feel we are not heard and forgotten and its not fair at all.

It seems as though there's no one willing to listen with compassion. People today are self absorbed & don't want to entertain the idea that one of their peers is suffering. Here in the US, everyone is on their own & without wealth or govt power, you're not considered worthy of adequate care.

You’re exactly right. The compassion is gone. You definitely learn who your real friends are and who to not work for. I can’t be a part of an organization that’s well know who treats people so poorly.

Employers will tell you you have to get used to it, like the flu. My company allowed work from home for about a year, then demanded everyone be back in the office. That is their priority, not mine. I resigned. Wishing Covid was over does not make it so.

Right!! That’s what I will be doing when I find something remote. Definitely not staying.

Yes. CDC has given in to Employer demands that the workers stay on the job, no matter the consequences to the individual, customers/ clients, or the community at large.

Even the ridiculously small amount of isolation recommended ( 5 days) is about to be reduced to zero isolation. ( See multiple news reports on this from 2/14/24).
CDC plans to recommend that if you have Mild Symptoms, no need to isolate at all ( ie. You can work)

Note that they define" Mild symptoms " as fever, cough fatigue, headaches, malaise, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, muscle pains "...Only if you are having chest pain, significant shortness of breath, confusion, or turning blue, should you even seek emergency care!

Our public health system has failed us. I personally don't want my meal served by someone Covid + with cough and diarrhea!
