Morning Kathy,
I'm no expert - on anything 🙁
So take my input only from my personal experience.
I've had the "nerve oblation" done on my lower back where they "burn" the nerves. This was for arthritis pushing against my nerves in my spin. The treatment helped me for 12-18 months and then the nerves actually grow back. The back doctor says some of his patients have done the treatment many times over the years as a "pain management" technique.
Also, ask about "methadone" for the pain. Oxy is usually fast acting for the pain but then dissipates quickly too. Methadone takes 3-4 days to build up in your entire system and then seems to reduce the pain from that point on for up to 12+ hours. I'm currently doing both Oxy and Methadone once in the morning and once at night.
AGAIN, only my personal experience and may not be related or useful in your sisters situation - but it never hurts to just ask the doctor the questions 😉
Walter - prayers back at you 🙂
Thank you. Is her pain gone after the procedure? Please update. I talked to my oncologist to see if it is an option for me.
Good info, @kathyj59270. I hope the blocker works for her. You mentioned that she is working. Is she also currently in treatment for pancreatic cancer?
