Almost an year went alright, lately I am feeling continues problems physically and emotionally. I am planning to take another opinion again. I would like to hear from someone who has the same condition and to know what medications or treatment they have done!?

Hi @phulwanik0611 I wrote to you in another conversation to let you know that it’s not uncommon for women who are pregnant to have elevated white blood counts. Here is a link to that reply with information for you.

It’s easy to let your anxiety get away from you, especially when you’re pregnant. You want everything to turn out well for you and your baby. Seeing that you had no blasts or abnormal blood cells and had confirmation from three hematologists that there is nothing directed to CML, I think you can rest easy that this is not an issue for you.
Women who are pregnant are also increased risk of iron deficiency anemia.
Has your doctor suggested any iron supplements to take while you’re pregnant?

Oh okay.. well I found my form by putting in what cancer I had, so you could put the type of anemia you have and it should show you a forum with others that have the same thing and can give advice. My apologies for not being much help, but I will continue to pray that God will give you peace and the Holy Spirit will give you comfort. I pray you find what you’re looking for.

Welcome to Connect, Raja. There are a number of members in the forum who also have CML. Over the years, with the newer treatments that have been developed, CML has become a fairly manageable chronic disease. The Imatinib medication you’re taking is one of the standard drugs for the treatment of CML to slow the progression by targeting the defective CML blood cells. It’s also know on the market as Gleevec.

While you’re waiting for members to share their experiences with elevated platelets while in treatment, I found several others who have mentioned Imatinib or Gleevec as part of their treatment history.

@suzie71 was treated with Gleevec (imatinib) and shares her very positive experience in this comment!

~The comment is in this discussion where you’ll find other members such as @dmmurph @vkartsona@craighatescancer, who have experience with imatinib, along with members on other medications currently being used to treat CML.

Have you discussed the elevated platelet level with your hematologist?
