Month and half long throat pain

Posted by kennedyakelly @kennedyakelly, Dec 1, 2022

So I’ve been dealing with a sore throat for the last month and half but the weird part is it’s not my tonsils. It’s around my larynx/thyroid. I went to the ER initially and they did blood work, CT, and X-ray and came back with all perfect results. I ended up going to see a ENT and he said it seemed like there was Larynx lesions/ulcerations that he saw with a mirror in my back throat but it should go away soon and that was about 3 weeks ago and it’s gotten worse when I try to exercise or when I have to speak a lot. I don’t have hoarseness or anything it’s just a constant pain and pressure when I talk and breathe. I’m really scared it’s something like cancer but wouldn’t they have already caught that in all the tests they’ve run. I’m going back in a couple weeks to get rechecked by the ENT but I’m having major anxiety about this because the pain will just not go away and I’ve also never suffered with acid reflux either. I’m also a 23 year old female who has never smoked/vaped and I don’t drink alcohol.

@kennedyakelly Hello, I looked back through your posts, and I see that you have had Covid twice and also mono while you have been having this throat pain. Also some chest and ear pain and a bit of dizziness.
Perhaps you are dealing with post-Covid or post-mono issues.
I was interested to read that the ENT saw lesions or ulcers in your throat. I have a chronic herpes infection - yet another hard-to-get rid of virus - that jumps out every time my body is stressed - and yours certainly has been. Mine popped up again this week as massive canker sores and colds sores (all the way down my throat too) after dental work, and was treated successfully with an antiviral. Maybe you can ask your ENT about that. Also, my daughter is prone to vocal cord ruptures, and had a severe one after Covid, so another possibility.

They definitely would of found something, although I'm not a Dr. I had Larynx Cancer, all I had was A Hoarse Throat, went to an ENT, right away saw Lesions that was Cancer on my vocal cord. But done with radiation, its a long process, did you go to an Allergist ? It maybe, but I wouldn't worry, especially with all those test..Best of Luck, we're here for you if you need to talk

Try “Reflux Gourmet”. I had inflamed larynx and horrible cough for over a year, then my ENT recommended this and it stopped the cough and irritation and much less acid reflux/GERD.
