Pancreatic cancer recurrence: Anyone else?

My husband had half of pancreas and spleen removed with 20+ lymph nodes. They found cancer cells in 3 of the nodes when tested after surgery. He had received chemo pre and post the op. He was NED for a year. Christmas week his last scan and diagnostic laparoscopy showed cancer in the sac surrounding the organs mid body. Yesterday he began infusions of Gemcitabine and Abraxane. Currently there are no trials for him to participate in for his gene mutation KRAS G12D. We are hoping and praying that a trial of the inhibitors will be introduced for his gene mutation. He is now considered Stage IV and is in the palliative stage. He is not in any pain, but has neuropathy in hands and feet/legs. That was from
2 doses of Oxaliplatin in initial chemo last year. The doctor stopped giving it to him after the neuropathy started. We are hoping the two new drugs introduced to him this week will stop the cancer cells from growing.

I too have KRAS G12D. Recently a visited a noted research center to find out about the recent work in this area. Also, I was on a zoom call with Dr Pant at MD Anderson today regarding vaccine trials for KRAS G12D
First let me say I just finished a round of gem/abraxane and it is making a difference for me in my tumor marker and also a “suspicious” area.
The vaccine is about to open phase 2 randomized trials. Not sure if your husband will qualify but worth a call!
Also I was informed that great progress is happening with G12D checkpoint inhibitors. So good that they may be available to the public in 2024!
If he has done 5FU/fulfurinox I think this cycle of drugs will be easier. Help him keep his attitude positive and keep up the good fight. We can turn this into a chronic disease soon!

PS look for KRAS Kickers on social media

Same here. Where are you located? My onco said they are just beginning to open trials for the G12D. So keep looking
