For patients with commercial drug insurance coverage for Forteo: You must have commercial drug insurance that covers Forteo and a prescription consistent with FDA-approved product labeling to pay as little as $4 for a 1-month prescription fill of Forteo. Month is defined as 28-days. Card savings are subject to a maximum monthly savings of wholesale acquisition cost plus usual and customary pharmacy charges and separate maximum annual savings of up to $9,450 per calendar year. Card may be used for a maximum of up to 13 prescription fills per calendar year. Subject to Lilly USA, LLC’s (“Lilly”) right to terminate, rescind, revoke, or amend Card eligibility criteria and/or Card terms and conditions which may occur at Lilly’s sole discretion, without notice, and for any reason, Card expires and savings end on 12/31/2024.
Lots of helpful postings on Forteo, but I need to know about Evenity. Has anyone out there been on Evenity for some time? If so, any problems with it? Major concerns?
Thanks for your input. I'm on board for trying it, but now having issues with the cost. Did your insurance cover the Forteo? I have Mcare and am on an advantage plan. The co pay is prohibitive. Might need to go back on a supplement to cover the cost. I have lots to check into. I believe I am over income for prescription assistance through Lily.
I never picked up part D, because it's pretty useless for me. I got my first pens for 100$ each in Singapore. Columbia, Mexico, Canada most countries of the world don't charge their elders the highest prices in the world. All 100$ a pen. Except Japan where I've heard the pens are $41.
Some have had success with RX Advocates. I (maybe mis-) understand that there is a gradiation of cost according to income. Leosteo indicated that theLily income allowance is generous. There is a generic Alvogen with Gold RX coupon for 749$. And your endocrinologist may be able to get your (dis) Advantage plan to cooperate. If we elect good governance prices for seniors will continue to lessen. I hope you have luck.

I just started my 3rd pen. The only side effect has been feeling tired. My part D insurance would have paid some leaving me with about $2,000 to pay for each 28-day pen. I need the Forteo to build my bones so I can have major back surgery. Thank goodness Lily has the Care Foundation and they are providing the medicine for free. My doctor’s office help coordinate everything after I filled out an application on line. My osteoporosis was undiagnosed because no doctor thought to order a bone scan when I should have had one. Please pass the word to anyone you know who is 65 or older to get a bone scan.
I did two years of Forteo about 14 years ago. I don't recall any adverse reaction. I also traveled just putting the injector in a insulated lunch bag with a blue ice pack. Didn't have any problems with TSA either.
I came here to ask for tips on that. I have taken several travel vacations (bike and barge and hiking the Camino de Santiago). I have no idea how I'd keep it refrigerated on those kinds of adventures.
What did you do AFTER Forteo? Did you and your MD come up with a life plan?

@babs10 Tymlos is similar to Forteo in its action, but does not need refrigeration. However it cannot get too warm! You might want to check diabetes supplies, which often include a kind of purse with an ice pack for insulin, including insulin pens that are a similar size and shape.
