Dating with digestive health issues?
Has anyone tried dating someone with a ‘normal’ GI tract??? I imagine there would be some awkward conversations & situations. Seems easier to start a relationship with someone with digestive health issues. A lot more understanding and compassion would be exchanged, I imagine.
Or was everyone already in a long term relationship & madly in love before their symptoms progressed?
Asking for a friend 😜

question. what is "Date Weight"? it does not really resolve. maybe go into remission is the best you can hope for. but, even then you'll ALWAYS have it. as far as i know. there is NO CURE. sorry to be the party pooper 💩💩.
@mv63 ,
You really have been through a lot. I appreciate that info. Thanks for the tips!
@danny5 ,
My girlfriends and I call it “date weight” to describe the size we feel comfortable with our bodies. For me, it’s when I feel fit and comfortable being intimate. Maybe, my body size shouldn’t matter, but for me…most of my life I have been slim to average size. Normally 130 pounds and when I gained a lot…I didn’t feel like myself. I didn’t intend to imply others should be a certain weight.
My digestive issues started September 2022. I’m not sure what the cause is, but I’m hoping it can be corrected and I can return to normal function. I do have Type 1 diabetes and that will never change unless I get a pancreas transplant, which is unlikely. But, I’m used to that. 😊
Still single? 😜
I think after meeting all of you I’m pretty set on finding a man with digestive issues. At least the sense of humour is built in. We all have bad days but at least we can have a good laugh at ourselves. (Probably a coping mechanism but fun nonetheless)
Nope. Happily married for quite a while.
Good thing, too. When I had a stroke five years ago, I wouldn't have survived without a helpmate and a reason to keep going.

I’ve been married 20 years to my 2 nd husband.
Been so chronically sick with my digestive disorders last 10 years.
He’s very understanding as he sees how it’s completely changed my life for the worse. I think dating would be so difficult like this but I’m sure you could find someone understanding or someone who’s in same boat .
I wouldn’t wish all this on my worst enemy.
Don’t give up on love ❤️ though .
Be honest w/ the person you date ahead of time . That’s the best way .
Good luck 🍀
ok. i was just hoping you weren't trying to get to some unhealthy weight that society shames women to do. because you have enough to deal with right now. actually more than enough.
@danny5 ,
Right. I’m trying to get my priorities straight. I think being overwhelmed is one reason I ended up here. But, I won’t give up on love. My last serious relationship was a couple of years ago. He has passed away. He was considerably older than me. I suddenly felt the desire for a new relationship this past summer. I hope it happens. 🫰
CONGRATULATIONS ON your choice to look again. i hope it works out for you. i know i'm still looking. we all deserve love & happiness.
