Gabapentin causing swelling of legs and/or feet?

i take 1800mg of Gabapentin a day. i've been on it for over 7 months. i've never had this. it shouldn't. but there is always something new happening.

I take 600 mg of gabapentin, 300 mg twice daily. No swelling in my feet. I still get some cramping and stabbing. I hope everything is going well with others.

I had swollen legs and feet when I was prescribed Gabapentin.

I was also on Paxlovid for COVID and I have Stage II renal failure. Paxlovid has a drastic effect on kidney function and I gained about 20 lbs in less than two weeks. However, this morning, I was down by 6 lbs, which is a step in the right direction (at last!).

When I was first prescribed gabapentin, I was told to take 300 mg three times a day. It seemed that there was so much fluid collected in my feet that I couldn’t feel the sidewalk under me. If I backed off to take 200 mg three times a day, I didn’t have the clinical benefit for my chronic pain syndrome. If I took 700 mg a day, I still had the side effect, so I worked out the dosing for myself: I alternate 600 mg a day and 700 mg a day by adding an extra 100 mg every other day. That works like a charm; My feet are still a bit swollen, but they’re no longer numb.

Have any of you fellas experienced loss of libido or any degree of ED well using Gabapentin. If so, what dosages are you taking?

I was down another 2.5 lbs this morning si I'm still moving in the right direction.

You maybe allergic to it. That happened to be with a couple different drugs over the years. Ask the doc.

Fyi, there are other meds you can try too for the pain. I use pregabalin.

I take 1800 MG split in 3 doses daily.
I get swelling below the knee, closer to my ankle.
I just wear socks that have a loose neck or just roll them down below the swelling.
