I completely understand and am in a similar situation. These health issues are so debilitating and frankly devastating for any kind of normal life.
I recently started taking 15 mg. and still can not sleep. I don't even get tired during the day. It's been at least a month and I lay awake all night. I took xanex for years for anxiety and then I found I didn't need it for much anxiety but found I slept well with it. The doctor won't give it to me for sleep so put me on Trazodone and now this. Trazodone made me sick and Mirtazapine doen't do any thing but tmake me dizzy when I get up. I really tired of playing games with medications. I do not want to gain weight because I struggle getting it off.
My adult son was just started on Mirtazapine 7.5 mg at bedtime. Weight gain would not be a problem for him right now as he is underweight, but I wonder if you should ask your doctor for a lower dose?
