Digestive issues

Posted by bumble81 @bumble81, Apr 14, 2020

I started having digestive issues last fall. By December I was told I had bilary dyskenisa and had my gallbladder removed.
That did not fix my problems.
I sometimes have traditional heartburn but mostly I have sour stomach and stomach pain mostly middle immediately below sternum and to the left. Increases after eating. I often feel like food did not make it into my stomach. Like it's stuck down there.

I will get this weird fast quiver like spasm deep inside. I can feel it with my hand I push down and so can my husband and it goes on for hours at a time. Anyone have that before? It's very strange but something inside is not working properly. I also have postprandial hypotension and intermittent difficulty swallowing.

My blood tests show slightly elevated liver enzymes but doc said they are not dangerously high. My stool is frequently bright yellow and liquid:(

Also I cannot seem to get a straight answer but do those of you with experience with ulcers did it cause excessive burping?

Hello everyone I have had this swallowing issues for over two years now I have list over 60 pounds because of me unable to resolve my issues. I will like to know if by me having a prolapsed rectum is that the reason why I'm having digestive issues like having a feeling of something always being stuck in my throat I burp sooooo much it's driving me crazy every time I burp it doesn't come up completely and I have to literally manually regurgitate to bring the burp up and there comes my food. I have went to several gastroenterologist and no one seems to see anything. Please help anyone with a doctor or solution.

Hello all. Ive been having these symptoms and have a dr appointment next wednesday. These symptoms have started/progressed for last 6 weeks. A little about me i am 33 years old, 5'3", i weigh 180 (starting weight 6 weeks ago weighed 220). I had my gallbladder removed about 8 years ago.I have for most part been someone who had hard time passing bowels i would sometimes go 2-3 days without going. I would say maybe about past year it got somewhat differnt i would get urge around 8pm and sometimes nothing would happen. So about 6 weeks ago it started. I have abdominal pain, has been there everyday, some days a lot worse. I have had loose stools EVERYDAY, i go around 4-5 times a day. If i eat ANYTHING it is coming out within 1 hour, sometimes even with water. More symptoms below-ive had very faint yellow tint to my eyes. People have said i look pale- fatigue- slight raspy voice, slight coughing past couple days- had a couple black tary stools in the begginging. Had blood when i wiped the other day- jard to swallow pills- vomiting more often- orangish colored stool- greasy looking stool that floats (usually watery stool)- dark urine- heartburn feeling- feeling like i get winded when minimal effort- no longer snore at night, breathing seems slower- and again have not been able to have any food in past 6 weeks-bruise easilyI know noone here can diagnos me, but i seem to have all symptoms. What were yours or a loved ones symptoms when they were diagnosed.

I was reading your post and thought "Gee that sounds way familiar.. years ago back when I was 19 years old I started having pretty much all the same things that you have going on. it got so bad that I could not even drink water without severe pain and it would go straight through me. I lost a lot of weight and got to the point where I was constantly bleeding when I would use the bathroom and just got really bad until I finally went to the doctor and I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. maybe it's something you should think about being tested for also if you still aren't sure what's going on.

I'm having upper and lower digestive issues. B.M. changes - 90% of time it floats. Always feels like it never fully empties. Full and gassy feeling. Upper part of stomach near breast bone - mid chest - and lower part of stomach - belly button - pain. B.m.'s 5-7 times a day. All shapes and sizes. Can't eat much at a time without feeling full.
I have an appointment for a colonoscopy, but can't get in until mid march. Wondering if it's diverticulosis. Any other suggestions - what to eat or not eat? Doctor just says take Miralax.

diverticulosis is in the descending colon. i have it. what you're describing does not sound like this. but to be on the safe side. do as the doctor advised with Miralax. and maybe add a stool softener to keep the Bowels empty. i do this. i also have Crohns disease. which is in remission. for eating, no spicy foods, popcorn. eat whole wheat foods. which help with the BMs.

I have some issues as well. My colonoscopy isn’t until April and I’m rather anxious about it. I hope they (Duke) will move it up after my office visit this week. I expect a local exam and ……idk what else they can do. Scans? Blood tests? I’m very nervous about it.

Have you had a colonoscopy before?

yes i have. quite a few of them. more so since i found out about having Crohns. and now that i'm 65 at least every few years. there is really nothing to fear or worry about them. most gastroenterologists put you to sleep. so you don't feel what's going on. make sure whomever the doctor is informs you of this. also there are scans and blood tests. all depending on what they are looking for or find. just relax and you will be fine. good luck. d

Thanks a lot! I have had a screening colonoscopy several years ago, but I wasn’t having digestive issues then. Now, with the various digestive problems and pain….I’m trying to stay positive. I have no idea what’s going on. No need to worry until I know the situation, right?

To jac59 @jac59, I have symptoms similar to you, but I, more often than not, also have diarrhea, which can be of the blowout nature. I have pain as you described. My GI blames all my digestion/abdominal issues on IBS and Gerd. FYI, sometimes I question that he is right, but that's what he says.
