Feedback on Linzess for Irritable Bowel-C or Chronic Constipation
I have both of the above-conditions. Took Linzess, (called Constella in Canada) and got terrible stomach pain. Feeling desperate and thinking about trying it one more time. Interested in hearing what kind of experiences other people have had with linaclotide/linzess.

I am 85. Take 2 Gas-X in AM to loosen inside. Senna for me is a pill.
I have both conditions as well, I have found that Linzess works way too well, couldn't really leave the house, taking trulance now, not as effective but still works
Tried it for 1 week. I got cramps about 10 minutes before I emptied my bowel. However, I still dribbled throughout the day. No way I could leave my house.
Also, Amatiza which you take with food kept me at home as well.
Hi. Yes, I took Linzess when it first came out. Tried difft mg but cramps were terrible. I switched to Amitiza and I am tons better. I use stool softener 100mg in morn and 100 at night. Hope this helps.
That does help! I want to get by on stool softeners if I can. Thanks.
Just wanted to let u know I was told no more than 300mg for few days if constipated. Softener is by far safest . Good luck.
bellacosi I have been taking every morning for many years miralax and your right it does nothing
but give me a lot of Gas when I wake up in the morning. I started to take a softener at bed, but that
does very little. I have a script for senna but I didn't want to takeout everyday, It is not like I sit all day
I walk a lot. maybe I should take 2 senna's. I just give up!!!!!

Thanks all. My GI doc put me on Citricil at night and Miramax in am. I do suffer with both. Once my stool plug comes out I have diarrhea at least 3 times during the day. I take no pre or probiotics. I only eat soda crackers when I need to leave the house. Do I doctor shop as mentioned Linzess and Amitiza. Been trying to control things for 2 years now.
The medication works well until my kidney transplant, now it doesn’t work for me.
Good Morning, @banks1025. I want to extend my Welcome to Connect to you. I see that you are a kidney transplant recipient and and as a transplant recipient myself, I know how our medications can act differently after our transplant. If you have not done so, please discuss this with your transplant team.
Here is the link to the transplant Support Group where others with organ transplants are sharing about their experiences.
