I lost my sense of smell after functional sinus surgery. I saw Dr Zara Patel at Stanford who did a series of 3 PRP (protein rich plasma) into my olfactory center — high up inside the nose. My sense of smell now comes and goes depending on how swollen the tissue is in my nose (I’ve had 3 years of complications since my surgery). I was able to taste cheese a few months ago and I almost cried with joy.

Hi Wendy. I watched that treatment on You Tube and the results were impressive. Unfortunately, I live in Indiana, but I have an appointment with the chairman of the Indiana University Medical School Otolaryngology Dept in March so I will ask him about this. Thanks and good luck to you.
