I know this is an emotional situation for you and your boyfriend because this can be life altering for both of you. If this is a false alarm, then it’s a little wake-up call to really be extra cautious with using birth control. I’m glad that you and your boyfriend always use condoms and while they are fairly reliable accidents can happen.

When you’re adult enough to be having sex you also have to be adult enough to understand there can be these unexpected consequences…and that’s not easy to remember in the heat of the moment. It can be pretty sobering and scary to realize how easy it is to become pregnant. Unfortunately it’s usually up to us women to be the responsible person in the partnership to make sure birth control is used every single time.

So, taking the pregnancy test is the right first step. Keeping in mind that PMS can actually have some of the same symptoms as early pregnancy so hopefully that’s what you’re experiencing.
