I have post covid syndrome and didn’t take Paxlovid. I wish I had as I have taste/smell disorder. Would taking that helped? Idk. It’s a personal decision with guidance from your doctor,

Main reason for taking paxlovid early in covid is that it suppresses virus replication, and this is good to do early and before the virus floods your body. It gives your immune system time to ramp up and attack the nasty buggers. Paxlovid should still work after the virus subsides, but a bit of a balancing act between if it does much and paxlovid side effects.

Ask your Doctor to refill it and do another round.

WARNING: Do not take Paxlovid without making sure it won't interact with any medications you are currently taking. Because I nearly died because I was prescribed Paxlovid and it interacted with the Hydrochlorothiazide I was taking, causing my sodium level to plummet to a deathly level. Luckily I went to ER and was admitted to hospital for 8 days! So just wanted to warn people....

Paxlovid interacts with MANY medications, and there are several that can be very dangerous. I’m glad you’re ok. It’s crazy that they gave it to you without checking your other medications extremely carefully.

When I got COVID again six months ago (three years into long COVID) I couldn’t take paxlovid because of the interactions, so they gave me molnuvirapir instead. Not only did I start feeling better from the COVID symptoms within a few hours, but it also made a significant and lasting improvement in my long COVID symptoms.
