I’ve seen and heard this type of symptom before. Im so sorry! It’s almost like a neurological response to the cold. I have a question, when you drink hot tea, or hot liquids does the tip of nose feel inflammed or get really red? If so it’s almost like you have pockets of dry air space, which is more common in cold seasons and almost feels like a brain freeze? For lack of better words.

But this is what I’ve seen work;
1. Seeing your dentist. The bad taste and smell is sometimes linked to the bacteria in gingivitis! When you can see a doctor, that’d be the one I see.
2. The “now” treatment-heads up this will take at least a few days, if not 10 days to help, but I have ABSOLUTELY seen it work.
—-Place some Pure lanolin on a cue tip and massage it into the inner walls of your nasal cavity. Do 2-3apications per session. Lanolin is very similar to “second skin” is how I call it. Fluff up the cue tip so you don’t scratch, too.
Do this DILIGENTLY and timely, four times a day, for three weeks. Especially after a shower!! (people even do it IN the shower).
Washing with baby shampoo is helpful and safe to rid of bacteria areas also, I’d do that prior to lanolin twice daily.
I would NOT other OTC treatments during this time, so you know if it is working or not 😊
I’d love to hear more and I hope
This helps!!!! Thank you for sharing and let me know how this goes please!! I really hope it will do wonders for you.

My nose doesn't get inflamed or turn red after drinking hot beverages in cold seasons.It just helps a little with the congestion in my throat.And I have talked to my dentist about the metallic taste.And apparently it's not Gingivitis so I think the mucus from the post nasal drip would be the only possible cause.And since you mentioned the "now" treatment-heads up I wanted to know if that's specifically for treating the nasal drip or the bad taste ?.
