I recently took a break from atorvastatin after 2 years of pain. Prior to that the docs just ignored me, or cut me back to 3x/week statin. I continued to hurt - back, hips, elbows, knees, hands - lots of PT and OT helped, as well as Advil, but I still hurt. About a year into stains, I was "forced" to taper off Klonopin, which had helped me sleep for over a decade. Horrible anxiety and insomnia! Finally got to a sleep doc and she was willing to reinstate the Klonopin but it was so hard to get off it, I refused. Taking Lunesta and sleeping, but waking every few hours, tossing and turning with vivid dreams. Now that I have stopped the statin - 7 doses over the past several weeks, my pains are less by at least 50% and I seem to be sleeping better, although I do take the Lunesta.
I was taking the stain at bedtime, so I do wonder. So hard to tell what is doing what.
