@caligodgirl Hello Cindy and welcome to Mayo Connect.

I am so sorry to hear of this difficult pain and internal bruising from scar tissue. Having lived with this for 5 years sounds so hard.

Do any of the doctors you have seen offer you any suggestions for this scar tissue problem?

Often large medical centers have a plethora of specialists who can help with severe problems like you have reported. Have you considered a second opinion from a large medical center like Mayo (they have locations in Minnesota, Florida and Arizona) or perhaps a large medical universtiy in your area?

We look forward to getting to know you and supporting you.

Teresa

The barometric pressure works a number on me. Anyone else experience thus? Curious.

Parus---responding to your query re. barometric pressure---yes I have worse muscle/all over body pain when pressure dips. Just recently when it rained last Sun-Mon-Tues. I used to track pressure with a barometer but found that low pressure wasn't always the cause of increased painfulness. So, go figure.....

Dear lioness---I've read many of your postings---with difficulty---because of missing words, poor syntax, lack of punctuation, etc. and I find this frustrating because you have something important to say. Is it possible that your medications are the cause of the lack of lucidity.

Aha!---Glad it's a mechanical problem. Never heard of a Kindle with "auto-write". Don't think it would give me the same satisfaction I experience with mind-hand-eye expression vis-a-vis computer. I love the act of composition---should have been a journalist.

@jeannegordon4 Magnesium helps some with muscle pain for me. I am sad you are suffering too. I also avoid sugar, gluten, packaged foods and try to avoid stress as it makes pain worse. Far easier typed on the page. Pain causes stress, stress makes pain worse. A vicious cycle for all of us. This fibro is not for wimps!!

A friend of mine uses prednisone for years. That has its side effects but was the only thing that helped. She takes between 2-4 mg per day and is 83 years old, walks every day and is very active. Has had it at least 20 years. She told me it was so bad when she first had it but the prednisone made big difference. Mine was bad, not like hers... but a mixture with all my other problems from my failed back fusions. Magnesium is wonderful for muscle contraction to work properly and our diets are often poor in it and you are right, our diets do affect our pain and other health conditions. Our gut is our number one defense. If it is under attack from the environment, bad foods, our body reacts in many ways negatively.

Hey everyone: Virtuous69 here, Have not been on Mayo Connect site for some time. Major Fibromyalgia flareup, achy knees and cervical stenosis on top of all my other spinal issues. I wanted to cry when I read some recent posts, not only about Fibro, but internal scar tissue and abdominal pain which I have not posted anything about, because of the other issues. Have had one C-Section and a hysterectomy where obgyn surgerion found a web of mangled stuff and endometrious after being told I had a very healthy uterous. I scar tissue easily and I know I have massive scarring in my abdomen. Further exploratory surgery would probably add more adhesions. Some times my intestines seem to turn themselves iinside out if doing any mild abdominal exercises. Agree about magnesium helping with leg cramps. Had two hip replacements and knees are now starting to complaiin quite a bit.
And yes stress aggrevates my Fibro to the max. My husband is nearing 80 and I see his personality changing quite a bit with hearing loss and cataracs. We live from penny to penny and must move from our adult community mobile home in San Jose very soon. Had to let housekeeper and gardener go, and our charming place has gone to wrack and ruin. I also joined the :"Just want to talk group" and met IndianaScott (volunteer mentor with great sense of humor. who was very encourageing.. I
I live very near Los Gatos and think I've heard of Dr. Cook. I'm supposed to get some blood work done for my diabetes and liver function, but cannot go, as Medicare and Aarp not covering blood work. Since when. ??? I applaud all of you. We all have our version of meds, and treatments, and its hard to believe we have to suffer like this for a lifetime. I have a very strong believe in Jesus, and try to manage a grateful spiriit. I have a loving husband, who in his nervous state yells alot and seems like a different person from 2 years ago. I am not able to handle his off and on again personality changes and its my respoinsibility to get this mobile home cleaned, deflead, powerwashed,, painted, and carpet steamed with no extra money. We must move out of the Silicon Valley to another county or state. Weather is a big factor for my fibromyalgia. Dear new ones, hang in there, that is all we can do after working on diet and getting all the info we can to live healthier.lives. Mayo connect is the only support I have and so grateful I can go there and even complain about my lot when I''m overwhelmed
. P.S. I was invited to jump into a discussion about upper leg pains, and I was in such a depressed funk, I could not write on Connect. I think it was change in weather. I use a knee brace and any good arthristis cream for joint pain when needed. My PT used to help alot with Ultra Sound and massage. I've wondered if he could ultra sound my intestines to soothe them down.(??) Is that even possible??
Love you all, Dori

@virtuous69 Fibro flares are dreadful. I tell myself the pain is not real because I look healthy so I ought to be vibrant and active. I am not faking nor attention seeking. Moving to a more comfortable climate is not an option. I live alone.
I have done all I know to do. I have been prescribed meds in the past and they messed me up. I use a lot of Vapor-rub which sometimes helps. Since I am old and retired it seems I do not deserve to have quality of life. Up to me to advocate for myself. When others were trying to run my life things were really a mess. Thing is we continue to try...
