Foot neuropathy: What gives you relief?

Posted by kathrina @kathrina, Nov 5, 2019

It seems if I get enough activity/exercise daily I don’t have pain; if not, am awakened from sleep and must get up (even in the middle of the night). What’s going on & what more should I do to avoid rest-disruption?

@lioness have you seen this Jan 2019 article on Conolidine? Sounds promising...

@jphnbishop@ I just purchased Conolidine! I figured, what the hell. I have tried so many things, wasted so much money, that it is nuts. But any kind of pain relief is worth every penny. If Kratom were not addictive, I would just stay on it. But you cannot take it daily. So I have to keep on plugging away......what we all go through. We know more than our doctors, for sure. Thank you jim for the statement on taken ones life! When you are in so much pain day after day, it is so discourageing, and all my doctor wants to do is surgery but can't tell me if it will help or not? He says I have Chiari malformation and wants to cut my head open to help my spinal fluid move?? But dnt know if or when it will help, then why bust my head open, really. I'm just sick of feeling so sick and sad all the time.

@resawaller I sure know how you're feeling. I'm there more than I'd like. We're going to have our 3 month old granddaughter and her family here for Thanksgiving week. Our daughter married a Coast Guard IT, so we're liking the fact that they're closer to us than his last post in Boston. He was transferred to Alameda, CA, just a day away. Family is an important part of our safety plans.

I have a sensory nerve pinched now and pain down back and in front and neuropathy down leg with spasms constamt/ Not sleeping for pain. Finally agreed to pain patch. I just pray I am not allergic to it since I am to so many things they try. I am just giving it all I have and hoping for the best. My doctor says I read more about how to deal with all off this than he every has time to. I write down everything I see on here that he hasn't tried; Thanks to all.

Good morning @kathrina . Can you describe the neuropathy! Is it pins and needles? Numbness? Or something else. We’d love to help but needs a little more information, if you’re okay sharing.

I've had neuropathy in my feet and toes for many years now ! It feels like knives stabbing, burning and when I walk,my feet feel like I'm walking on big rocks ! I my primary doctor seems to think that my feet and toes may not be getting enough blood flow to them? So, I went to my cardio doctor and he checked for a pulse in my ankles and only found a weak pulse ! Now,I'm going to have an ultrasound done on my legs to see just how much blood flow there is ? I've taken all the med's and had physical therapy 3 or 4 times with no pain relief !!

@katrina Welcome to connect We aren't Dr,s but tell of our experience . I have neuropathy ,fibromyalgia and lots of back problems . Have you seen your Dr or rheumatologist ,neurologist about Gabapentin for the neuropathy? Also I use for mine a product called Fibro cream by Topricin It does help me along with the gabapentin. Stretching your feet helps also along with exercise of the feet as you said. Good luck

Thank You so very much: went to see a new dr. yesterday: she made no suggestion(s) for alleviating symptoms—grrr, your fibro/ topricin cream sounds like a decent start.
