Cancer has taken its toll on my family and friends

Posted by emiiller @emiiller, May 15, 2016

cancer has taken its toll on my family and friends and the battle rages on today with my sister in law. Breast and lung cancer. She had been accepted for a trial at the mayo clinic and then a week ago she was informed that she'd been dropped from the trial because of the type, and stage. Devistating news but the fight will continue. We can pray that another trial will open in the near future. Our faith will sustain us. Every cancer patient I have ever known has an aura of beauty unlike any other. We send our prayers for remission and recovery to every person affected with or by cancer. Even though I have never been diagnosed with cancer, when friends and family are diagnosed, it's a diagnosis for all involved.

Welcome to Connect @emiller. So sorry to hear about the clinical trial. I'd like to introduce you to @burrkay @retairforceman and @martid who are also dealing with lung cancer and/or breast cancer. What stage of cancer does your sister-in-aw have?

Stage 4. That was the diagnosis. She's been doing cycles of chemo where she goes in 1 time each month and does a lengthy dose of chemo. She's had 3 cycles so far over the past several months. went in on Friday of last week and they could no longer see the spots they had identified n her lungs. That's where we're at presently.

No spots sounds like a bit of good news @emiiller. Does she have breast cancer that has spread to the lungs? How is she managing with the chemo side effects?
