Please join me in welcoming Marilyn Poppe to our MCVP volunteer team! Marilyn, a retired travel agent, will be assisting patients and visitors in the Advanced Screening Clinic on Mayo 6.
Q: Are you originally from the Rochester area? If not, where else have you lived?
A: I'm originally from Sherburn, MN, which is the only other place I have lived.
Q: When you aren't volunteering, what else do you like to do?
A: Spending time with friends, helping a friend with dementia and her family, gardening in the summer, and crocheting baby blankets for Bundles of Love in the winter.
Q: What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
A: You will not find me going to a deserted island, but if I unfortunately had to be there... food/drink, lodging, and communication of some sort.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: Surviving 50 years in the travel industry with all the changes that have taken place.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Mayo Clinic?
A: The care and attention given to patients. The research being done to improve and/or save lives.
Welcome, Marilyn!
