We are proud to introduce Duane Bateman as the newest member of the MCVP team! After a career in residential construction and real estate, Duane recently retired and moved to Rochester. In his volunteer role, he will be assisting patients and visitors at the Eisenberg Subway Welcome Desk and also as a downtown wayfinder.
Q: Are you originally from the Rochester area? If not, where else have you lived?
A: I recently retired and moved here with my wife, Pam, who has family living in and around Rochester.
Q: When you aren't volunteering, what else do you like to do?
A: I have been a cyclist for many years. I enjoy biking the many miles of bike trails throughout Rochester. I've enjoyed reconnecting with my wife's relatives as well.
Q: What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
A: A bike, a book, and a margarita
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: Our daughter, Alli, who currently lives and works with her husband in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Mayo Clinic?
A: The overall concern, caring, and respect for the patients.
