On Wednesday, June 22, the American Brain Foundation is hosting a virtual event called: Controversies in Dementia Research. The event will take place at 7:00pm CT and will feature our own Dr. Ronald Petersen, Director of the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
In 2021, the FDA sparked hope when they approved the first new treatment for Alzheimer’s since 2003, called Aducanamab. Now, another drug called Lecanemab has also been approved. Dr. Petersen will discuss this new generation of Alzheimer’s drugs, including the controversies surrounding them. Do they really work? Are they safe and effective? He will also overview the state of dementia research today and what the future may hold for people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
Tickets are free. Register today.
