dose for suspected GCA, but high for PMR ... general rule is to take as little prednisone ... you find that sweet spot, you must taper ... you can avoid the side effects of prednisone ... corticosteroid that is close chemically to prednisone

I realize that tapering down on prednisone very slowly is the preferred known treatment for PMR....
I realize that tapering down on prednisone ... the preferred known treatment for PMR ... I too have been on a taper down program ... The PMR has gone away, or so it seems ... have made the switch once they have tapered

@darkarta - Sorry, I remember the swelling I had at the time I was diagnosed in...
I was on prednisone until 2010 when ... I was able to taper off when the PMR ... do remember they were high when my PMR ... remission in 2016 and I went back on prednisone
