Excellent question! I would say if taking prednisone relieves the pain ... that doesn't prove anything....
but they had very little to do with PMR ... for PMR. ... I could taper off prednisone in a couple ... It can be PMR along with something else ... aware of some of my problems until I tapered

I had a mild headache, with pressure behind my eyes, from the time my (extraordinarily severe)...
the time my (extraordinarily severe) PMR ... worries given my extremely painful 24/7 PMR ... I was diagnosed with PMR 3 weeks after ... Actemra (tocilizumab) injections and tapering ... off the Prednisone.

I had my last dose of Prednisone for my PMR the end of May of 2023....
I had my last dose of Prednisone for ... my PMR the end of May of 2023. ... I had tapered slowly and was at 1/2 ... mg of prednisone when I stopped taking ... still there, so I concluded it was not PMR

hear you ended up with GCA after your PMR ... My doctor is also trying to taper me ... off the prednisone too quickly. ... off the prednisone more successfully ... route doesn't really work for PMR
