I was diagnosed with PMR 2 1/2 years ... I take 2 mg of prednisone daily (down ... I have been slowly tapering to get off ... side effects and it has helped me taper ... off of the prednisone.

@vjm0223 That is a common position for a rheumatologist to take. They worry about the rheumatology...
You must also continue doing a slow taper ... and hope that someday you can taper ... it was a whole lot easier for me to taper ... controlled my inflammation while I tapered ... is the "only option" for PMR
