Although health and medicine news reports provide useful information, there seems to be a "frenzy of misinformation," and it is not uncommon to hear conflicting reports or even exaggerated or hyped-up messages. Recently on Mayo Clinic Radio, gastroenterologist Dr. Joseph Murray along with preventive medicine specialist Dr. Donald Hensrud offered some guidelines for separating hype from reality in health news reports.
