PRC Virtual Aftercare

Life after graduating from the Comprehensive 3-Week Pain Rehabilitation Center program can be filled with a range of of emotions – pride, worry, excitement, confusion, hope, and more. The goal of the comprehensive program is to help you build up a foundation of tools and resources so you can confidently and independently implement PRC skills into your everyday life.

It is expected that there will be successes and failures in the process of integrating PRC skills. Messing up is normal. It is important to have a strong social support system around you to help with this process. Your support system can include your family, friends, PRC graduates, and the PRC team.

One resource available to PRC graduates is the Virtual Aftercare Program. Every Monday (excluding major holidays) from 2:00 – 3:00 PM (EST) there is a Virtual Aftercare Visit that all Mayo Clinic Florida PRC graduates are welcome to join. The visit is led by one of the PRC pain psychologists. This group visit meets via Zoom. The visit is patient directed, so there are no pre-determined topics. Patients in the visit have the opportunity to ask questions, ask for clarification or review on certain topics, and share successes. Topics that are frequently discussed are pain/symptom behaviors, navigating acute vs chronic conditions, emotional distress, scheduling/moderation tips, communication, and sleep.

If you are struggling with staying on track, desire accountability, need a refresher, or simply want to support other PRC graduates, the PRC Virtual Aftercare Program may be well-suited for your needs.

To schedule a Virtual Aftercare session, please contact scheduling at 904-956-0029.

If you have not participated in the Comprehensive 3-Week Pain Rehabilitation Center (PRC), the full program may be the next step towards living well with chronic symptoms.
