Hi Marie,
I had a triple A surgery done at Abbott Heart 4 years ago. Everything went good. I went in this last week because I had a cat scan of lungs. They said I had two aneurism. I went back to my vascular surgeon at Abbott he did a scan and read their scan and saw things very different then the other radiologist. I think Abbot's heart is the best. I had one anerisim 3.7 no dilation. He is very good, but, he is retiring. He is contacting me with the name of another vascular surgeon at Abbott to keep watch on me. Have to go in.once a year for recheck. I am 76. Hope this helps. Abbott is much closer then Mayo. Good luck. My thoughts are with you.

I would seek out a vascular surgeon. You do not know how fast the anuerisim is growing and I would want to know. I had the repair 4 years ago. Everything went fine, but I had to suggest to my primary physician to check the size. He did and it was a 5.5. Went to best vascular surgeon was in surgery within 2 weeks. I don't know if the primaries don't get it or what. Good luck. Have it checked.

I was 70. I am now 74. Healthy and able to do anything. My surgery lasted 4 hours the surgeon cleaned out one artery to the kidney and repairs the aorta. The repair was so good it looked like the aorta hadn't been touched. I would highly recommend it at any age. My anerism was 5.5 at the time. Good luck.

I am wondering about after surgery follow up. I think I asked this once before. After my AAA surgery I had one following up with my vascular surgeon. He said everything was great and he would see me in five (5) years. Is that normal? Please reply. Thank you kdh1

I had my repair at Abbott hospital in Minneapolis Minnesota. The surgeon was well known. He has written papers on AAA. I. personally believe if the surgeon has preformed the surgery before a number of times successfully he knows what.he is doing. Let me know when.amd if you.need surgery how it turned out. Thank you and good luck.😇👃👃

I had the AAA open surgery when I was 71. It was quite a long recovery trying to get strength back otherwise the surgery went well. I was under 4 hours. Hope this helps. My aynerisum was 5.5 at that time. Hope this helps. Thinking of you.
