Apr 9, 2016 · How do I begin living a healthy lifestyle to benefit my heart? in Heart & Blood Health

Hi,

Living a healthy lifestyle is key to getting well. Extra weight makes the heart pump harder. Eat a lot of fruits, vegetables, fish (if you can) and plenty of water.

Exercise and do a lot of walking.

Best of luck!

Apr 2, 2016 · Early menopause and managing osteopenia in Bones, Joints & Muscles

Sorry I talked about Osteoporosis!!

I’m am going through menopause as we speak. Hot flashes, coldness, very cold, night sweats you name it, but the best thing about it NO MENSTRUATION!!! “YES” 🙂

It’s just another phase in our lives that we go through. I take it one day at a time and do my best to always eat healthy. My sister is 46 and she is also going through menopause now.

You will be fine!!

Hi,

Yes, I went through osteoporosis in my 40,s as well. I was at the beginning stages of it in my back. My grandmother had osteoporosis so I tell all of the women in my family to get a Bone Density Test at 40. I also tell them to take vitamin D in their 30’s. I took Fosamax for 2 years and then I took another Bone Density test and passed with flying colors.

Actually, my GYN sent me to take a Bone Density test this past January since I took one over 10 years ago and I still passed with flying colors. NO SIGNS of it!! Just continue to eat healthy, take your medicines (Fosamax and Citracal or Caltrate) and you will be fine. I buy Caltrate from BJs because you get a lot for a cheaper price.

Stay strong and healthy!!!

Patience, Perseverance, Faith and Prayer.

May 25, 2012 · Menopause! REALLY in Women's Health

Hi,

I was not asking for your advice for medical reasons. I was only responding to your experience as a woman going through menopause. I just wanted to know if you experienced changing of your cycle from many days at a time to fewer days at a time. As far as speaking to a doctor that is something that I do on a continuous basis. Just speaking to other women about their experiences can be helpful. I don’t think that you read my response to your statement. Well, either way it was nice to converse with you.

Hey, listen I know its tough, but your health is extremely important. Once I was diagnosed with heart disease I started researching and reading more about it. At the time computers weren’t even available. So I had to go to the library and read a lot. I found books on healthy diets and I change my diet instantly. It is important to take care of yourself and eat right, because truly a lot a weight can cause other issues and I know that you want the best for yourself. You must take care of you first. It is a tough battle but find what works for you. I had to get used to eating different things, but your taste buds change all the time anyway. I don’t eat red meat or pork. I don’t eat pork anyway, but I stopped eating red meat 21 years ago and you do feel better. I love fruit and vegetables and I do enjoy eating healthy, My weight is very important to me and I make sure that is maintained. You can do it too, 🙂 Exercising is good too, but your eating habits is more important. Work on both together. People always say to me don’t you find it hard to not eat or drink when others are around you and I say no, because they are doing what they have to do and I am doing what I have to do. I don’t have a big appetite anyway and I am glad about that. I hope that you will find what works for you and you and only you can do that for yourself. You are first remember that!

Sep 10, 2011 · menopause and heart palpitations in Women's Health

I am a heart patient and even though I am closer to menapause I get the palpitations just before and during my menstruation. My doctor told me to make sure that I drink a lot of water. It seems to help some.

Hi, I not at the spotting stage yet, but I am down to two days of getting my menstruation and it is also coming lighter. I know that it is a matter of time before I get to the point of where you are now. So did you begin with the days dropping from 4 to 3 to 2 and so on?
