Thanks for letting me know how you are doing. I thought about you every day. Just take your recovery a day at a time. I know each day will get you closer to healing. I know from my experience I had good days and bad days. But the bad days happen less often and then there will be only good days. You are a positive person and that will get you through. You are still in my prayers.
Love Kathy

Thanks, I never heard of that. Is it a permanent solution? Is it a painful procedure?

Wow! Not good news! I believe making the decision to have lumbar spinal fusion surgery was the worst decision I have ever made! Now, finding a doctor or treatment to see if there is any hope left for me will be the challenge.

I recently talked with my surgeon at my 8 month post operation appointment. of my 2 level lumbar spinal fusion surgery. Everything looks good and my bones are fusing. However, my pain continues and is probably worse or as bad as before surgery. He as suggested a Nevro spinal cord stimulator. So, I would like to know how successful it has been. If it would take care of continued post operation pain? I could not find any current independent data, only manufacture data. I am a little skeptical as this seems a billion dollars business. Sometimes money gets in the way of truthful information. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I had a L4 through S1 spinal fusion surgery at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix AZ in October 2019. My surgeon said it looks good, but unfortunately I am still in more pain now than prior to surgery, However, with COVID -19 I have missed my 6 month check up. I hoping that my surgeon will be able to give me more answers when I see him again. He did tell me that it could take up to a year or more to completely heal. So, I am still hopeful. I had the most excellent care at the Mayo hospital. My surgeon and hospital staff were wonderful. Your surgery will be much more extensive than mine. Everyone is different and I will keep you in my prayers. You will definitely need help after your surgery. I have a wonderful husband and he was there for me. Somethings I found essential were a toilet riser, a bed rail to help in getting in and out of bed and a trapper devise to pick up things. I also used a walker for a short time. Make sure they give you adequate pain meds and don’t be hesitant to call your doctor if you need more. If you would like to talk with me more, let me know and I will give you my email address. I wish you a speedy recovery and a successful surgery. Just remember, it takes time and a lot of patience as you recover,
