I just googled Farxiga and found this, which means it wouldn't apply to someone with preserved ejection (me):The Food and Drug Administration has accepted a supplemental New Drug Application and granted Priority Review for dapagliflozin (Farxiga) for the reduction of risk of cardiovascular death or worsening of heart failure in adult patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).
This is so interesting to me – I just had a physical and my blood sugar or whatever that marker for diabetes is, was a little over the normal range…. I'm going to ask about Farxiga! Thanks – new info is SO important! I'm already on Spirolactone but never heard of Farxiga!

I am on spironolactone and I’m going through a horrendous cold or flu But know that I am not supposed to take the standard decongestant take medications. I have been suffering by just taking Mucinex and Celine nasal spray but wonder if anyone knows if there’s an affective decongestant that safe with spironolactone? Thanks!
I developed PN almost 20 yrs ago – I also have had lifelong high cholesterol My doctors have badgered me to take statins forever (although I have always felt they weren't the great silver bullet and probably would prove to have long term downsides, as they have) and I have tried several, and each and every time they made my neuropathy worse. I am sure it is different for everyone and my sister tolerates statins fine and has been on them forever. One surprise though – I had a heart cath last year to check my arteries, which everyone assumed would be blocked due to my off-the-chart cholesterol for decades – guess what? They were wide open! and my calcium score was -0-! I attribute it to oatmeal!! Good luck!
Mon, Jan 6 9:50am · Recipes and Tips for a Low Sodium and Low Potassium Diet in Heart & Blood Health
I wish I knew! But I have discovered that Vermont Bread Company makes a sodium-free whole-wheat bread! But then I see on one list of high potassium foods to avoid "whole grain" breads! I have to say, reading over lists of low-potassium foods, a low-potassium diet looks pretty darn unhealthy to me! So many of the great veggies and fruits for a plant-based diet are off the list! The low-sodium I can handle, but this addition of low-potassium is a challenge!

With my diagnosis of Diastolic Heart Failure (see “Stiff Heart” topic in this forum) I am supposed to go on a low sodium diet. But I now have read that with the medication I’m on, Spironolactone, I should also strictly observe low potassium. Of course all the foods I used to eat daily – bananas, spinach, yams, etc etc – are HIGH potassium foods and not to be used. Does anyone have any info on a source of menus or recipes for this sort of forbidden combination of foods? Thanks!
