Sun, Mar 8 10:59am · Dry Scalp with Immunotherapy in Lung Cancer

My dry scalp is completely gone. I did a week of predisone and my oncologist had me go to a dermatologist. She gave me Betamethasone Dipropionate for my scalp. It has worked wonders!

Is anyone else experiencing super dry scalp or a rash on your body from immunotherapy treatments? Or Xgeva?

I had my first treatment of Zometa, was on Xgeva before with no side effects. The first treatment of Zometa was not a pleasant experience. I had flu like sypmptoms and felt like someone beat the crap out of me. Do any of you have problems with your teeth or jawbone with Zometa?

@JustinMcClanahan . Can you please resend that link from above? That one doesn't work.

Thank you @JustinMcClanahan . I got my frist dose of zometa this last Friday. I was ok on Friday afternoon and then on Saturday I felt like someone beat the crap out of me. Every bone in my body was aching, my stomach was queezy, all I want to do is sleep and light headed. Today I feel a little better but not myself. I have no clue why my oncologist switched me since I was doing fine with the xgeva.

Hi! My oncologist just switched me from Xgeva to zometa. Is anyone using either of these? If so have you experienced any side effects? Thank you

Dec 26, 2019 · Immunotherapy: Keytruda (pembrolizumab) in Lung Cancer

Good morning @edb. I have been on Keytruda for just about a year now. The only side effect, which just started about a month ago, is a rash. Pretty much all over my body. Even on my scalp. My pdl-1 levels were very high so we decided just to do the Keytruda and no chemo. Just had a scan a couple weeks ago and there is a very small amount of activity on my right lung, small amount on the lymphe node on my neck. We are going to start radiation on my hip the first part of January since that is where must of the activity is showing up. The best advise I can give you is to stay positive and find strength and comfort in God. He truly works miracles. The very very best to you and your wife. Sending prayers.
