Apr 8, 2019 · Anyone here dealing with peripheral neuropathy? in Neuropathy

My daughter bought me for Christmas the Hot and Cold Pain Relieving Gel Socks from Sharper Image. They are green and black. They are very soft and I put the gel packs in the freezer. If I am watching tv I slip the ice packs in the socks and make myself comfortable on the couch watching something funny. I find the ice to numb the neuropathy (electricity feeling) for a little bit. It is only temporary but each day I try and find ways to cope.

Apr 8, 2019 · Does anyone find that a type of shoe helps your foot neuropathy? in Neuropathy

I have a pair of HOKAS I bought at the running store. They have all sorts of different running shoes from soft to firm. I have a pair that are very soft on my feet and feel like pillows. If you go and try on these running shoes make sure you try on all different styles. They will all feel different.

Apr 8, 2019 · Have You Made Any Kind of Peace With Having Your Neuropathy? in Neuropathy

They put electrodes on my feet and legs to send different nerve signals to the damaged nerves so your brain may start to send non pain signals to the areas your are having pain. I think the problem was that I was the only patient they had tried at my clinic so they kept moving the electrodes around. I have read that better results are reported when the medical staff has more experience using the machine. I believe that the Mayo Clinic reported better results with more experience also. I did not have any improvement and had to pay out of pocket. It was worth trying though because you just never know what I might help. I keep searching and hoping for a cure!

Apr 7, 2019 · To do or not to do: Bilateral mastectomy and implants in Breast Cancer

I had a mastectomy but still ended up needing radiation. My only option later was a LAT Flap. The plastic surgeon said it would be fine but I was already having so much pain from neuropathy that there was no way I was going to let them rip out my back muscle with a risk of more chronic pain. If I had the option just for implants I might do it but the LAT flap is more risk.

Apr 7, 2019 · Concerned about the side effects of anastrozole in Breast Cancer

I was switched to anastrozole. I was premenopausal prior to chemo. Chemo put me into menopause but they were not sure if it would be permanent so started me on Tamoxifen. I took that for three years and now have been switched to the AI because they are sure I am i permanent menopause and there are some studies that show it may be more effective for post menopausal women.

I tried Scrambler Therapy. It did not help.

Just switched to it two days ago from Tamoxifen. We'll see how it goes. I am already suffering from CIPN in my feet ( feels like electricity 24 hours a day) so I hope no more pain with this med!
