Sep 26, 2019 · Treatment for chronic epstein barr in Infectious Diseases

I didn’t read all ur posts but I caught this one. Some of ur symptoms sound similar to mine. Maybe ask doctor if you could have Strep B, he will prolly look at u crooked though. It’s different from Strep that causes sore throat. Most of info you will find has to do with pregnant woman, because it can be transmitted to child during birth and can be fatal. It’s only been in recent years that it has morphed into a bit of a “Superbug,” affecting more people with weak immune systems. I broke out in rash and sores all over my body. My primary Dr actually took a scraping of sore to diagnose it. Good luck!

Sep 26, 2019 · Is chronic reactivated EBV different from chronic active EBV? in Infectious Diseases

I’ve actually had active full-blown mono twice. 1st time was 1990, 2nd time around 2010. In 1995, I gotta mono\strep like infection that I couldn’t kick. I was diagnosed with EBV by my pediatrician and referred to a specialist. He diagnosed ME/CFS and it was my understanding that EBV is not an actual diagnosis. Most of population will test positive for EBV exposure, majority don’t get sick @all. If EBV is active then a person has mono.
Has your doctor mentioned ME/CFS? I would ask what the difference is between CREBV and ME/CFS? An infectious disease Dr can rule out Lyme disease, which presents similarly, too.

Aug 14, 2019 · Chest Pain/Disconfort since May 2019 in Chronic Pain

Sounds a little like my symptoms with costochondritis. I went to ER because the pain in combination with the anxiety it caused, I was sure I was having heart attack.

Aug 14, 2019 · Teen with weird mono...or not? in Infectious Diseases

Those sound very similar to the symptoms I had leading up to my diagnosis of ME/CFS aka Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I had mono at 11 and by 13 I was often complaining to my mom that I felt like I had mono again. At 15 I developed the symptoms you describe but figured it was virus. But after 6 months of it not getting better, my pediatrician sent me to a specialist who diagnosed. Good luck, there are no specific tests to diagnosis, just a lot to rule out other possible problems.

Aug 1, 2019 · Generic for Lyrica to be available in July 2019 in Chronic Pain

Having taken lyrica for 10 years I'm very happy to hear about this development but a quick heads up for those taking currently. I just went to pick up my refill and insurance wants 10x the amount of money or new paperwork from doctor. Very frustrating, as I'm trying to leave town. This was done on a refill and with no prior notice from insurance. So be aware, it may be worth checking with your pharmacy to see if they are carrying the genetic.
