Hello–chiming in here…I assume you mean you've been on 300mg? DO NOT reduce to 150mg from 300mg. It will throw you into withdrawal, the likes of which I woudn't wish on anyone.
Read through all these posts.
Slow taper is how to best avoid the worst of WD symptoms. Slow taper=10-15% reduction in mg every month to month and half. Does it take awhile? yes, but it's worth avoiding the WD symptoms–trust us.

Hello there. Boat Head!!! Excellent description! I echo what everyone else has offered. But also, add B12 and Omega 3 supplements–they help heal the brain.

We have all had some of the symptoms you listed. I hope your doctor tells you to stay at the 37.5 dosage for a while and then you can begin taper. You will get through this–it can be rough, but at least you know why you had the symptoms. Best wishes for you!!!

Take it SLOW…. that just can't be stressed enough.
Taper dosage by no more than 20% at a time and step down every 4-6 weeks. There are loads of posts within this board about tapering methods. (counting beads if capsules, cutting pills)
Will it take a while (12 months or more?) YES! Will it be worth it? YES!
Withdrawal from Venlafaxine is debilitating for some.
Best wishes!

Hi there. Our experiences are so similar. No libido, weight gain, withdraw symptoms coming on within hours of a missed dose. I also developed elevated BP. I began to taper off 150mg 1 x a day by reducing by about 20% in February of this year. I have been staying at the same dosage for about 1 month and then decreasing again. I slowed to closer to 15% reduction this past month, just to get myself in check a little.
So far, I've not experienced withdrawal symptoms – I have even gotten a little of my pep back. Venlafaxine made me NUMB to everything–happy things-sad things-EVERYTHING. I'm so happy to start to FEEL again.
Best wishes–and my advice, stay on it at last dose you were at and then start to taper S-L-O-W-L-Y. Also, read through all these pages of posts.
