Mar 16, 2019 · mushrooms - anxiety and depression in Depression & Anxiety

My daughter researched it and knows more about it than I do. I haven't gotten to Colorado to speak with a doctor about it – I will be there after April lst. I'll let you know more after I talk to my daughter and get all of the details. She did say you have to be off anti-depressants when you take these mushrooms. After I see a doctor and get approved – I do know you have to go to certains doctors to get their approval. I would like to hear from some of you that have tried it and see if it really works better than anti-depressants and anti anxiety drugs. Anyone out there that have tried it?

You really sound scared as I am also. I've been taking Klonopin for approximately 25 – 30 years and my doctor is finally taking me off of it – thank goodness! It may be a great drug for a short period of time but horrible to wean off of it. My doctor cut me back to 1.5mg three times a day to 2 times per day – so far, so good – but it's only been a few weeks. I'm moving to Colorado the end of this month so I'll need to find a new psych. so I don't know what road he/she will have me on. I"m 72 so anticipate having the same psychical and emotional problems that you have. I wish someone had told me sooner that long term use is really bad for you. It was great in the beginning but now it's just any addiction. Good luck to you in getting off of it and feeling human again.

Has anyone tried mushrooms for relieving anxiety and depression? I would like to hear about it. I am moving to Colorado where it's all legal and would like to get off antidepressents and anxiety meds. They say it's not for trippen – but used in place of antidepresents and anxiety meds. I want to get off all my psych meds — especially Klonopin as I've heard a lot of negative comments comments about long term use. I've been on Klonopin for about 25 – 30 years and my new psych is weaning me off of it.

That scares me — you coming off klonopin. I have been on the drug for about 30 years and my doctor (new psych.) wants me to get off off of it. He and a PA recently told me that long time use in elderly patients have a high propensity to develop dimenteshia – especially at older ages. My mother had alzheimers and two of her relatives had it – I'm afraid it will happen to me. Thanks for the information about trazadone and serequel — good to help me get off of it. I've been weened off from 1.5 three times a day to two times per day. This is only my second week and I can't tell a difference. He will probably take me down lower on my next visit. I hope your psych. gets you off of it totally and gives you something else that will help you get off off of it. Maybe some other readers will read this and think twice about taking it or getting off of it. I read recently that the state of Georgia has banned pharmacies from dispensing it…I wish someone had told me years ago how potencially dangerous this drug can be to some people. Good luck on coming off of it. GOD Bless

I know what you're talking about — I moved to a city in the South from Colorado. After three years here I decided I HAD to go back to Colorado with it's mountains and nature. I can't hike up the mountains like I used to – I'm 72 — but I can surely see the wonder of it all. Here it's like a big city with cars with aggressive drivers and so many large highways – one going practically on top of another. Thank GOD for Colorado.
