@pankaj, @hopeful33250 Hi, I finally was feeling so bad(tensed, kind of aching every where, just miserable) that I ended up at the emergency crying… crying.. I could see a psychiatrist. He finally told me after 1hour of listening to me and hasking questions, that those were not "normal" side effects and that I had to stop citalopram right away. So now I will try Mirtazapine, wich should help me to sleep at night(that was part of the problem) I havent started yet. I have to wait that the citalopram is completely out of my body (5days) For now, I'm already feelling much better just being out of cita. I don't say that everybody having difficulties with cita the first days or weeks should stop or switch to something else. But I guess that sometimes bad side effects could be discussed to be sure that it is the good medication.

After 14 days on 10mg Im now on my second day on 20mg citalopram. I had a rough day yesterday. Woudnt move from my couch under a duvet cover for confort. The worst is the feeling of having both harms on fire. And tensed shoulders. No appetite Just feel miserable. The good thing is that I feel much better at night. Im calm, I can eat…so I think im the good path.
I do take ativan but never more than 2mg /day. .5 morning .5 afternoon. And than 1 to sleep. I dont need more. And looking at lowering dosage when citalopram will fully works.
Here in Montréal is a community organization helping with mental hillness. I m now in a group helping with anxiety. Being with people who sufferes from anxiety is helpfull and comforting.

I do expect that citalopram won't work right away. I guess I should continue for a few weeks, before thinking to change, unless the side effects become to difficult. For now with ativan it seems to be ok. Thanks to @pankaj. I m very grateful to have found this group. It helps a lot. Feeling less alone. I particulary appreciate that everyone is understanding, non judgemental.

Thanks @pankaj. My doctor did prescribe ativan anough so I can take up to 3 x 1mg. "If needed" To be honnest I think I m a bit surprised by the intensity of all this. And I ve always try to stick to 1mg. But now youre right it doesnt work… Ive just take 1mg .

Hi, its my second day on citalopram 10mg. I take it in the morning with breakfast. Yesterday was ok. Last night was the first night. I did fall asleep ok. But I woke up at 4:00. Anxious, tensed, almost pannicky, worst than before. I didnt feel good at all. Im a little better now. I did take my dose this morning. I guess it will be the same tomorrow. Hope it doesnt last to long..

Me…last night I was feeling good, calm. Realy. But this morning I'm anxious, my muscles are tense and sore. It's a mystery for me. Its the same thing every day. It helps me a bit to know that I will have better moments later today. So for now, I'm trying to eat my breakfast. I'll make my calm exercices and a bit of tai chi(thanks to @lioness and @pankaj 😊) I usually do a bit of meditation, (but I prefer to focus on the body than on my mind) Calm exercices also use deap breathing and it helps.

@lioness. The exercices I do are kind of a mixe of yoga(realy basic) and stretching. But I think tai chi could be a good idea! Thanks
