Mar 15, 2018 · Lichen sclerosus anyone? in Autoimmune Diseases

Thanks for the reply & info. Clobetasol is all I've ever used and it does work for me but I began thinking it may not be safe over many years. I had such a large amount of ointment prescribed, I've not gone back to the gynecologist. Seems to me many on this site have many more problems controlling this condition than I do, although I know it will not go away on it's own, so must continue to treat it.

Hi John,
Thanks for this information. It will be very helpful to me.

I have been using a prescription, Clobetasol, from a gynecologist for at least 4 years,. This keeps the itching under control. I'm not sure if using this for many more years is safe. Has anyone been using this ointment for a long period of time and what are your thoughts on this? It seems there is not a lot of info about this condition out there. I never could find out what kind of disease it is. Is it autoimmune?

Mar 8, 2018 · Is Idiopathic Erythrocytosis (Polycythemia) cancer? in Blood Cancers & Disorders

Hi Justin,
I have been thinking that maybe I should get another opinion at Mayo because the hematologists I have been seeing in my area seem to have no answers. I was treated very rudely & felt like I was being dismissed after my last appointment. I did not want to go back to that doctor or have any part of the medical system I had been in for more than 2 years. I don't have high hemoglobin numbers but just the hematocrit. I had so many phlebotomies that I was borderline anemic. Now I'm on iron pills but the problem of the red cells is still there & the numbers are going up slowly. I go to my primary Doctor for blood panels. My main symptoms are constant & many times extreme itching, upper body and arms, neck, back, scalp and lately, lower legs, torso gets extremely hot with sticky skin under breast area. Worse at night and not sure if the idiopathic neuropathy in feet is connected to this. Also have painful wrists and hands from longtime carpal tunnel syndrome. I had a bone marrow biopsy in March/16 to check for Polycythemia Vera but came back Negative for Jak 2 mutation. I'm really discouraged some days. I will have blood hematocrit & iron checked again in April at my primary Dr's office. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Mar 6, 2018 · Is there any connection with statin use and neuropathy? in Neuropathy

I have peripheral neuropathy in both feet, R foot is the worst and It's getting worse, especially when driving and at night. I have researched this, since the cause is unknown. I had taken statin drugs for over 20 twenty years and it seems there have been many studies done that show a relationship between statins and neuropathy. Can't get any answers from doctors and I'm staying off of most meds that have awful side effects like Gabapentin. All the doctors I've seen just brush it off and only try to give me meds for pain which I won't take because of side effects. About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with diabetes 2, just out of the blue. Nobody in my family ever had it & I had no symptoms. I read that statins can cause diabetes. I went off the statins and some months later doctor said I no longer have diabetes. Now, my cholesterol is fine, no diabetes but have peripheral neuropathy and a rare blood disorder. Now I am trying to find out if the blood disease is related to the neuropathy. The pain & numbness is getting worse. I'm feeling that one day I won't be able to drive, but even worse, walking might be difficult. I have read that statins are overprescribed, about 15 million Americans take them and new guidelines propose 13 million more patients may be prescribed statins as a preventative measure. This makes me wonder………………….
