Mar 26, 2017 · gabapentin and muscle pain in Chronic Pain

Sister golden hair. Glad to meet someone with myo fascia. I also have that. Makes your life miserable. I’m on oxycodone 15mg twice daily and endocette, two every four to six hours. Still doesn’t help. I’ve had trigger point injection. Didn’t help my legs but did help my hip. I started doing self hypnosis which I find is giving some relief. Also helps you sleep. I find also when the weather changes it gets worse. I go shopping,do two stores and I’m done in for two days. I also have two blockages in each leg so I imagine that adds to the flare ups. You are also right that if you rest it eases the pain. I apply the heating pad also. Another medication I’m on is pain cream diclofenac 10%. This eases the pain almost right away, but must be applied often for it to work. I want you to know that you are not alone with this. Not too much is known about this medical issue yet,so any information you can input is great. Nice to have you join the group

I suffer with my legs a lot. But on good days I try to do the things I couldn’t do on my bad days. Only to suffer again for days after. When will I learn? I hate to ask my husband or daughter to do it. Sometimes they act as if everything is normal and can’t see I need help. Very frustrating at times. I just went for more injections of saline and freezing into my hip. Just found out that the Dr mixes saline and lidocaine together for the trigger point injections. Hoping to feel better soon. Had heart tests done. I have to see a specialist April 6th. I was told that part of the wall of the heart has thickened. So the blood is having a harder time to pump. Don’t you love the golden years? I thought it was the years to look forward to. Lol

@sandytoes14 Hi sandy. My doctor explained to me that saline trigger injections breaks up the knots in the muscle. That’s all I was told. I didn’t find it helped at all. But it sure hurt. I will not go for them again. Thanks for your question. Jane56

@gailb Hi. Thank you for your reply. My pain moves. One day my legs are sore. The next could be my back. Went shopping, two stores was too much. Suffered for two days later. I also have two narrowings in both legs, Copd , stents in my heart, osteoarthritis and a tumor on my adrenal gland. Non cancerous. I’m 60 years old. Been on endocet, oxcodone and a pain cream called Lipoderm Diciofenac. Trying to reduce these meds or maybe get off them by trying other methods. Thought I would privately introduce myself to each person if I can. I am not sure if I did this properly. Thank you again Jane

Hi I am a fairly new member. My name is Janie56. I have fibro and myo. Also osteoarthritis. Some days can be pretty bad with pain. I’ve been on pain meds for a few years. I don’t like being on them. I try very much not to take them unless I positively need them. I started doing self hypnosis. It relaxes the nerves and the muscles. It is safe for people to do. You may get different reactions while doing it, but it only lasts for a few minutes then it’s gone. (Shaking). Numbness. It has helped my pain. It has cut me way down on the amount of painkillers I have taken. If you can’t sleep. It will help you with that also. I’m not saying anyone should try it although I was told by a professional that it is safe for anyone to do. But it is another option to look into.

Thank you Lauriedr. I found that treatment so painful with no good results. They injected nine shots in one leg. And nothing. The Dr. told me that it would relax the knotted muscle.

I’ve had saline trigger point injections. You are lucky if you get put under for that. Here in Ont. Canada most Doctors that I know do them while your awake. Not a pleasant experience. For me, not worth the pain of it.

Hi my name is Janie56. I am a new member. I also have Myo. I have had it for about five years. I have went through saline injections with no relief. I’m on endocette and oxycodone daily. Still having pain. Been to chiropractor and have had acupuncture. Right now I am doing self hypnosis. Believe it or not,it is relaxing the nerves and muscles and I am having some relief. I also take cymbalta for the last five years. I have never tried gabapentin.
