Mar 13, 2017 · gabapentin and muscle pain in Chronic Pain

@sistergoldenhair, I took Gabapentin for about 4 months. Started a 300 mg and increased to 900 mg daily over a 3 week period. I started feeling foggy, forgetful and drowsey. I didn’t feel any relief from the pain. I chose to quit the medication. So after doing some research I started to tapper down and stopped the medication within two weeks. I would discuss with your doctor about stopping meds as everyones medical history is different. It may take you longer.

@gailb, Thank you for your story. I have many of the issues you are experience. I am 49 years old and a police officer. I currently live in the Palm Springs area. Is this near the desert town you were in. I was wondering if there is a Restorative Yoga in the area you can recommend.

hope all is well with everyone. I was diagnosed with a herniated disc in L4 and 5 area in January 2016. I did acupuncture, physical therapy, k laser, injections and pain meds nothing worked. I had surgery in November 2016 but i still haven’t been able to return to work. The pain better but i still have to take small doses of pain meds to help and i don’t know if I’ll be able to return to work as my job is physically demanding

Thank you for you advise. I have been to a dr and i have a herniated disc and i am in the process of getting a surgical consult. I feel that i missed so much of my kids lives because of work that now that i am not working i have more time to be a mom and be involved. However it is very difficult to get them to open up and talk which is what hurts the most.

Abby sorry to hear that the move has been difficult for you but in my opinion is doesn’t sound as if you fully embraced it. Making such a move after you have been in one location for 35 years is very difficult your roots go deep. You doctor’s should be able to help you find doctors closer to you. You sound like you are in good health. Have you looked into volunteering at a local hospital, library or even an elementary school.

You must accept that you will not beable to recreate exactly the life you had prior to the move but you can find new things that can bring you the same happiness.

Hope all works out for you and find happiness and joy that you deserve.
