Description
Hi, I’m Dr. Joseph Breen, a neurotologist (ear surgeon) specializing in cholesteatoma and otosclerosis at Mayo Clinic in Florida.
On Wednesday, May 21 from 9-10am ET (find your time zone), I answered your questions about cholesteatoma and other routine or complex ear conditions.
After a cholesteatoma diagnosis, many people have questions about management options and ways to restore their hearing. You may also want to know about what you can do to prevent further complications and preserve your ear health.
Please note that this is for informational purposes only, and any concerns you have should be addressed to your treating physician.
Stay tuned for upcoming events related to ENT conditions.
Wow, that's a lot of surgery! The best way to prevent future issues with cholesteatoma is to continue following up with a surgeon who has expertise in ear surgery. They can monitor your ear exam, hearing, and even consider scans (like an MRI) of your ear to make sure the cholesteatoma is not returning. When surgery is done, there are different techniques that can be used to reduce the risk of cholesteatoma coming back - but there is no one technique that will always work for all patients!
I could not connect to the sessions Q&A with Dr Breen online … I don’t I is if he answered my question but if do would really appreciate receiving his comments by email. I tried to connect and join but for some reason I could not get online
