This month's guest:
Dr. Oliver Sartor will be presenting a talk on "Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials." Dr. Sartor is an internationally recognized expert in prostate cancer. He is a medical oncologist at Mayo Clinic and is the director of Radiopharmaceutical Clinical Trials across the Mayo enterprise. Clinical trials look at new ways to prevent, detect, or treat disease. The goal of clinical trials is to determine whether a new test or treatment works and is safe. Dr. Sartor leads or co-leads numerous clinical trials on prostate cancer.

Very interested in a high accuracy (90%+) prostate biopsy. Not interested in multi biopsies, wait and see diagnostic approaches (old school). 78 year old with PSA of 12.

@starman, the eligibility for clinical trials varies from trial to trial. Many trials at Mayo Clinic are open to international patients. Others are multi-center trials that may include institutions in other countries as well as at Mayo Clinic, such as in Canada, Mexico, Europe, etc.

If you would like to speak to a clinical trial coordinator to learn more, you can find contact information and more here: https://www.mayo.edu/research/clinical-trials

Were you interested in a specific clinical trial?
