Description
The Prostate Cancer Support Group is an in-person and virtual group for Mayo Clinic patients and their caregivers. The group meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from noon to 1:30 pm CT.
Each month guest speakers from the Mayo Clinic oncology team provide education on specific topics related to prostate cancer. Following the presentation and Q & A time, members share information and experiences.
Guest Speaker: Dr. Paul Min, Ph.D. an associate professor of radiology and a neuroscientist at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Min specializes in dementia research and offers instruction in Seokmun-Hoheup breathing. He studies the impact of breathing on brain health, particularly in relation to oxygen and energy delivery as well as waste removal from the brain. While the importance of healthy breathing is undeniable, altering a person's breathing patterns can be challenging since they reflect our physical, mental, and spiritual states. Dr. Min's talk will include strategies to enhance breathing techniques and cultivate a natural habit of diaphragmatic breathing.
In-person space is limited, but all are welcome to participate via Zoom.
