On Facebook Live: Patient and physician chat 15 years after lung transplant

Fri, Jul 22, 2016
11:30am to 12:30pm CT

Description

Join us Friday, July 22, at 12:30 p.m. ET (11:30 CT / 9:30 PT). Cesar Keller, M.D., a transplant physician at Mayo Clinic in Florida, will host a Facebook Live discussion with Richard Oppelt, the first patient to receive a lung transplant at Mayo Clinic’s Florida campus. Mr. Oppelt, who suffered from silicosis, received his transplant on June 7, 2001, and has since walked two daughters down the aisle, blown out numerous birthday candles, and helped other transplant patients through the recovery process. Over 500 patients have received lung transplants at the Florida medical center, and that number is expected to drastically increase over the coming years, thanks to a collaboration between Mayo Clinic and United Therapeutics.

Dr. Keller and Mr. Oppelt will answer your questions related to lung transplantation. Sign up for the live event to receive email reminders.

Post your questions before and during the live event.
