Carol, I got a Teleconference Reminder a couple hours ago bvia email. Did you get one?

Yes! I got one. Glory be. So I am signed up but in the wrong time zone, which will be okay, as long I tune in when it's Central and not Eastern where I live.
Thanks for checking.

Carol, If you are in Eastern time zone you will tune in at 6:00 PM. - 7:30 PM.

I'm sure glad we don't have to add the time change into this planning! You want a good laugh, you should see me trying to adjust my strict medicine schedule when I travel out of my time zone 🤷‍♀️

I signed up Saturday, but I don't see my name. I probably didn't do it right. I am trying to learn the tech required for this site.
I wish I had kept abreast of the advances in using computers, but I didn't. So, once again I don't know if I'm in or out.

@alpaca

Hello everyone. I have registered but because I'm shocking with time zones i'm not sure if it's 9 am or 11 am in NZ - we are so far ahead of the rest of the world that your 5 pm is my morning on the 31st. I like Mayo, believe in online support, it takes no time to respond or share in my group but I'm finding it hard to get in the rhythm. I am so used to Facebook for my local head and neck support group that I am struggling to create dialogues on this platform.

Hi @alpaca, the teleconference will be 11 am Wed. Oct 31 in Auckland, New Zealand. You can let us know what to expect for Wed as it will still be Tuesday evening here.

For everyone else, don't let the Kiwi time zone throw you off. For us tomorrow's teleconference will be held Tuesday, October 30th at:
6pm Eastern
5pm Central
4pm Mountain
3pm Pacific

If you're not sure, here's a time zone converter: https://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/

Can't wait to talk tomorrow.

I had to ask Rosemary since I wasn't sure I signed in correctly. As soon as I get through these computer operations that are new to me, I'll be okay. I love the Lighten Limbs With Friends for the 12 week exercise plan. I am excited that others want to do this too, and we can be successful and celebrate. Since I started this, I am definitely accountable and will be on the treadmill walking away, building strength and getting healthier with my Diabetes.
I'll be ready to listen tomorrow. I've never been involved in a Teleconference, so I'm excited.

@rosemarya Great tips, I will save this.

You and I think it was Teresa asked me to share some photos when we got back from vacation, so here some are.

In Denver, my son and his fiance are in one photo with us. In the Charleston ones I am the admiral 😉 of the Yorktown aircraft carrier, and there was one of my indulgent lunches -- she-crab soup (yum, yum, yum) and fried green tomatoes (just OK).

@contentandwell, you brought back some lovely memories! We moved to Minnesota from Charleston (still have our home there), and I remember taking my kids to Patriots Point after school, ever so often...until they heard that the USS Yorktown was haunted! (Their mum was also a bit "reluctant" to go there, after hearing the stories:)
Here's a famous sighting/picture:

The ship I was on USS McKean DDR-784 did plane operations with her back in the 60s. Just happy we didn't have to pick up a downed pilot. They are magnificent sliding through the water when they turn into the wind to launch aircraft. Fun for the guys on the destroyers escorting them, work for the guys on the carrier.

@johnbishop I was so impressed by the whole thing. It was a self-guided tour, actually broken up into six or seven tours. When I see something like that it really brings it home, the sacrifices the men on those ships made (women now too of course). I tend to be a very vicarious person which at times is good, and at other times is not good. The plantation really made me sad. On the upside when people tell me about a great restaurant meal, or a some traveling, I can enjoy it too! I should have been a travel agent!

Yup... HP Hood the dairy company! Best company I have ever worked for... treat their employees very well. We're a brand new plant, their 15th, and we manufacture Almond Breeze, and within the next few months, we'll start producing Lactaid Milk, Starbucks, and McCafe drinks.

Robotics is actually wonderful for boosting kids' confidence; its great for kids who are anxious and need to come out of their shells. Maybe she can mentor a team as an adult.

@kdubois I love Almond Breeze, I buy the unsweetened, vanilla one.
My daughter would be good at that I think but she is really busy in her job now so I doubt she would have time. She has no children, I doubt she will, so she has no contact with schools or children either. She has been a guest lecturer at Columbia University teaching writing, but of course those are big kids. She did that when she was a freelancer.

@rosemarya I am the same way when I travel out of my time zone. When we went to Hawaii I just kept taking my medication on Eastern time and got up in the middle of the night to take them. At that point I wasn't really thinking about the fact that in the middle of the night I was not eating, whereas at home I took them with breakfast.
