Thank you Teresa!
Sadly it was not the news we were hoping for but thankfully god made bones to heal. He has 4 displaced fractures & a tendon tear. He is very upset. I think he is more upset that he may have to be in a cast or on crutches for his Madrigal Performances. He is a senior in high school and after 4 years of trying to make “Singers” which is the highest honor in the Old English Madrigal Chior, he finally made it and let’s just say his character wasn’t written with crutches as his props. Poor kid!! I’m sure he’ll do just fine.
I’m sure the meeting will be fantastic and can’t wait to catch it on replay.
Many blessings to you all!!

@dawn_giacabazi

I can certainly understand his disappointment, Dawn. That is an unfortunate injury for any high school senior to have and especially a singer! I'll pray for good healing.

Is he having surgery as well as the cast and crutches?

Yes, our current culture of "replays" gives all a second chance to be part of things. You just gotta love technology. (Even when it frustrates us.) 😂

Humm....

Share a fun fact about you

Well, I guess it was fun - I met my wife on a Greyhound bus 54 years ago and we got engaged at Pali Lookout and we are still married ☺

What nugget of wisdom would you like to share with the new mentors

Connect is a great opportunity that can sometimes be a little scary but the great thing is all of the support behind the scenes - your fellow moderators, mentors and director + all of the social media support team. Need help? Just ask in the Mentors & Moderators group or send a PM.

What I've learned

I've received much more back from Connect than I've given. It is so worth it being a mentor!

P.S. - We are both still working full time. I'm 75 and she's xx (can't tell you!). She has promised that I can retire for the second time January 2020.

Hi Dawn @dawn_giacabazi - is there a possibility of getting a video of his Madrigal Performance? I'm sure he will do just fine, crutches and all. He's from some pretty good stock! It would be fun for us to see a video if you were able to upload it to Google docs.

@hopeful33250 he sees a second surgeon on Friday. The first doctor said he was not comfortable with treating. Glad he was honest.
Ye he will be doing a surgical repair. My daughter 15yrs old has her first performance with the Central Illinois Women’s A cappella Group. They will be doing a special Christmas performance on Oct 30 @ 6pm & Nov 2 at 230pm. So next weeks getting pretty busy.

@dawn_giacabazi How delightful to have such a musical family! You must be surrounded with music all the time. 😊

We are truly thankful and blessed. If they are not singing they are playing. Our children also play saxophone, trombone and now our youngest, Andrew 8yrs, plays the piano. Marching Band just completed another fantastic season!! Now we are gearing up for symphonic band and jazz band and of course the Madrigal season.
I will miss this busyness when they are grown!!! 😢
