My husband had surgery in November for a 7mm nodular melanoma on the back of his neck. After a 2.3 hour surgery it was successfully removed, 2 lymph nodes were negative. We had an appointment with our oncologist yesterday and he rated it. 11B He hast to start immunotherapy with Keytruda in a few weeks as well as getting a pet scan. Obviously we are very nervous. My question would be if anyone has had experience with Keytruda and if you could share your experience with me? Thank you very much in advance.

I was diagnosed in January 2022 with nodular melanoma. It was on my forearm... they did surgery to remove it. Unfortunately it was in my lymph nodes. I started Opdivo, which I understand is the same as keytruda just a different manufacturer. I have not had any horrible side affects from it. In fact I worry that it might not be working because there are no side affects! I am going for my 11th out of 12 treatments next week. I did have severe joint pain in my hands at one point...they gave me a short course of prednisone and it went away immediately and never came back. The main thing is he needs to pay attention to his body and talk to the oncologist about anything that changes... Good luck. How many treatment is he doing? It's really amazing because just a few years ago a melanoma diagnosis was a death sentence. Now there is hope and many survival stories with these treatments...
