Description
This event is open to all Mayo Clinic staff, learners and their guests. There is no cost to attend.
Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be available starting at 6:00 pmCT.
Dr. Stuart Bloom, an oncologist on the staff of the University of Minnesota Medical School, created and performs in "How to Avoid Burnout in 73 Minutes: A Minimally Invasive Musical Procedure." It's a one-act play with 12 original songs and multimedia projections that examines a physician's struggle to find home and humanity in what can seem a hopeless, inhumane endeavor.
"Burnout" has played sold-out runs at Open Eye Theatre in Minneapolis and is returning by popular demand to Rochester, MN.
This performance is hosted by the Dolores Jean Lavins Center for Humanities in Medicine and made possible through the generous support of the Jerry and Sonja Wenger Endowment for Humanities in Medicine.
Content Warning (CW): This performance includes material related to burnout and mental health experiences that can elicit difficult emotions. Contains some strong language.
