I feel that among all professions nursing is the noblest one. I am 87 years old and waiting to leave this world any time now. I am pretty sure that when I die it will be a peaceful death thanks to the nurse
who took care of me.
I know about two nurses, one Florence Nightingale and the second, Mother Teressa. Both were well-to-do but voluntarily adopted this profession.
Yet another instance is that of Mahatma Gandhi of India. He cleaned bathrooms of his guests and tended patients like lepers and asked his wife to help in this menial activity. Gandhi is revered as the father of the Indian nation.
